Essential Tools of an Internet Marketer

Professionals in every industry have specific tools needed for success.  Just as carpenters needs hammers, screw drivers and drills Internet Marketers need to have basic tools to be able to run, grow and stay in business.  You likely won’t find a policeman without a gun, right? So why should you, the internet marketer think it’s okay to run your internet marketing business with out a variety of tools?

Often times, some beginner internet marketers look at a tool as a direct investment, something in which they will get a direct return on.  I had a discussion with a fellow not to long ago, and he asked me what the ROI (Return on investment) was for having one of the tools suggested.

A medical doctor that purchases a stethoscope does not do so because he’s going to get $100 in return for having it, no.  He purchases it because he knows it is a vital tool he needs to run his practice.

If you are serious about Internet Marketing you NEED at bare minimum three tools for success.

  1. Domain Name (www.Godaddy.com $11.99/yr)
  2. Hosting (www.Hostgator.com , plans start at $4.99/month)
  3. Auto-res ponder. (www.Aweber.com, $1 for first 30 days $29.99/month after)

We all know what the domain name is.  Hosting is where you are able to store your files, website, etc.  It’s like your online hard drive, it is required to have a hosting service to have your domain name.  The auto responder is a way to comminicate with people who are on your mailing list.  It is a very effective way at building relationship with individuals and sending promotional offers.

I would ague, that if you are reluctant to purchase any of the aforementioned then you are not serious about building your online business.  I don’t want to sound blunt, but that is the way it is.  You don’t have to get the ones I listed above, there are other domain services, hosting services and auto respondors out there, those are just the three that I know, trust and recommend.

As I teach you methods on building, running and growing your online business, I’m going to partially assume that you have atleast these three tools.

Be Inspired,

Tai Zejan

I do have a single domain name and hosting. I didn’t stick with that product very long. I sometime make the mistake of jumping to a new product before I did the last one any justice. I’m sad to say I’m still trying to get my first sale, I’m still new but I am definitely late. Are there any tools to find find back links?

    • TaiZejan says:

Tremaine, thanks for the comment my friend. One of the thing beginners tend to do is jump from niche to niche and from technique to technique. They lack focus and in short, they don’t make any money 🙁 It is a common theme that hopefully we’ll be able to correct. Don’t feel like you’re late, the internet is not gong anywhere any time soon 🙂 There are still a lot of ways to make a good income.

In terms of backlinks, google has actually cracked down a lot this year on just random backlinks. Now it’s more or less the quality of backlinks and quality of your content which is what google is looking at. Previously, you could just get 1000 backlinks to your site and watch it climb to the front page of google, well it’s not really like that anymore, and honestly it’s a good thing. If you’re able to create quality content you will have much better success. It’s also important to have a variety of backlinks, blogs, forums, social media, etc. One of the tools available for this is one called “SENUKE.” I have used it in the past with decent success but I don’t use it now.

There are a lot more effective ways at building a business without worrying about how many backlinks you have, shortly I’ll discuss that so just stay tuned 🙂

Thank you for taking the time it meant so much to get a response from you. I will be the first one here every time you update this blog. Thank you so much for trying to better us.

I do like the back linking method it feels like a “black art” but it would be nice to rank by quality and content like you mentioned.

There is no way I’m going to miss out on any free coaching you’ll be giving us.

        I’m very eager, thanks again.

Tai, I know Aweber wasn’t a tool used in your previous course. Will this new system also be an autopilot method? Will clickbank be involved? And as far as your old course, you are saying that those methods don’t work as well as they did before? I became very interested in backlinks + clickbank as a source of income after your 2009 course. Thanks very much

    • TaiZejan says:

      Hi AK,
You are correct. Aweber was not really included in the previous course even though I did use aweber I never went into depth about it. In terms of automated income, there are things you can do to automate everything, however like anything else work is required. The methods used previously still work, but it is a little bit harder now and more time consuming, as google won’t just rank a site that has 1000 backlinks like they used to. I’m focusing on a new approach, which will really help people be in charge of their income, not let someone else..like google.. be in charge of it.

      Thanks,
      Tai

  3. Good post Tai, It would be great if the people that commented had a avatar photo of themselves. To me this is one of the first things that people should do if they wish to build a long term relationship with other like minded people in their particular niche.
I do like the style of your site plan great easy to read content.
    Bruce.

    • TaiZejan says:

Bruce, you’re absolutely right. Using Avatars really does help with putting names with faces! Gravatar.com is the place to setup your avatar, it’s quick, easy and free 🙂

Believe it or not Bruce, this is the Stock wordpress template! haha When I was going about setting this up, I found my self getting caught up in the which theme should I go with, quite honestly I was spending too much time browsing through theme forest trying to find one, I purchased one that I decided was not a good fit lol. Sometimes, simple is best 🙂

      Thanks for commenting,
      Tai

    • Tremaine says:

True point, I did my responses from my mobile phone so I haven’t been able to upload a avatar I will also.

  4. Chris says:

    Hey Tai,

Like the post and I agree with everything that you’re saying but what if someone was serious about starting an online business but didn’t have the necessary capital or funds to start? Are there any free methods that some people can use to get started?

    -Chris

    • TaiZejan says:

      Hi Chris,
When I started my first business I had absolutely no money, I was a broke student with a negative cash balance in my bank account – literally. Somehow I was able to make a way. I knew I wanted to do business, I knew it would cost some money but I managed. I worked a part time job at a loading dock in the middle of the winter, that was quite honestly the hardest job I’ve ever had. I worked at that dock for a month to catch up on my bills and to allow me to get some money so I could reinvest in the business.

      Thanks,
      Tai

    Hello Tai,

I’ve bought your products in the past and haven’t been able to make anything work. Perhaps I gave up too early, I don’t know. I’m not internet illiterate, but think I’m not alone when I say that systems and work ethic are not a guarantee of success. You need a mentor to be with you every step of the way. Someone to answer questions and provide encouragement for sure. More importantly, someone to provide insight and feedback for why something works or doesn’t work AND share the stuff that REALLY puts money in your pocket. Having said all this, I’m looking forward to your updated approach to helping others succeed. People first, money second.

  6. David says:

    Hey Tai,

Good to see you back. I’m a bit more than half-way through your clickbank course, I was just about to start Step 6, do you think I should continue with the course, even though things like HubPages/Squidoo policies and Google indexing has changed? Or should do you think your new method would be a better way to go?

I was thinking of going through with the course anyway, I figure it would be a good learning opurtunity even if it is not as effective as it once was.

Can’t wait to hear more from you

    David

    • TaiZejan says:

      David,
Even though you can’t use hubpages/squidoo this course lays out a good foundation of internet marketing in general. You’ll get to know the terminology and the methodology of certain things that are still as important today. I would recommend going through it for your own learning sakes.

      Thanks,
      Tai
