I am a rookie and I want to make money. I just wanna know why is hosting required for a domain when hosting has nothing to do with generating traffic? Can I still make money if I set up a domain with Godaddy alone without a hosting?
Well, this gets a little more into SEO. I’m not a SEO master, however I do know a few things and that is free hosting does not rank as well. And ideally, you get a 2 year registration at the minimum when you get your domain name. Google likes to see that you’re serious.

Jennifer, You can’t add any content without hosting. Thats like asking if you can live in an address, that doesn’t have a house.
How about using free web hosting? Will they affect your Google ranking?
